Guide to special education programs for learning disabled students in the United States

Children that are disabled have been given special programs. Depending on the nature of the disabled child, there have been programs that help them. The NCLB act created grants, and these grants opened up programs which are geared to these children. A disabled child doesn’t have the capabilities as other children to function in a normal class setting. In the past we sent students that are disabled to a separate part of the school. They then got taught by a teacher that didn’t know or wasn’t trained on these types of problems. When this Act was placed into the constitution, the act allowed or created new programs. These new programs hired direct care professionals that are trained in dealing with disabled students.

These students get one on one care with a certified staff member. The staff member according to the act must have a degree from as two year school or four year school that deals with Child Development. Child Development is the education of a child. It teaches the teacher on how to detect whether the child is disabled or not.

The way a parent can help their child is by placing them in these programs. One growing program which is for children that suffer from Cerebral Palsy is called, United Cerebral Palsy. This fast growing nationwide program helps children that are developmentally delayed. This program was created by the act which opened up a few grants. Grants like Early Child Intervention, and other child like grants. This allows a project to take care of a child that have a disability, or is disabled the chance to get the need education and the proper care.

So in America disabled children are getting the proper care they need. They are getting trained teachers how study in the cause and effects of how to deal with and teach those with these type of students. This is the most effective way to help the students that are disabled. In America we are training people to hand the students that have disabilities and are disabled. So we are now training people and hiring people to help us take care of those with these problems. This is all happening because of the NCLB Act.
